| Genital to Genital Rubbing, Help Dec 9, 2012 Hi, I hope you will be able to advise me, I engaged in unprotected genital to genital rubbing with a male who's status I don't know. He rubbed his penis around my vagina until he penetrated, there was a lot of semen. I got tested for all STI including hiv/aids at 21days, which came back negative. I then got tested for just hiv/aids at 4.5months which came back negative. Recently iv been extremely worried about it because I never waiting for the 6 month period. How accurate were my test results? Do I need to get re-tested for all STI/STD such as, clamidiya, gonorreah, sypilis, hep, hiv/aids. Please could you help me. Kind Regards |

Response from Ms. Southall
Hi The guidelines for HIV testing are to be initially tested at 3 weeks then again at 90 days, if both of these tests are negative then so are you, as long as there were no other types of exposure during that 3 month period, if so then the timing starts over again. Getting a test at 4.5 months is accurate and you are HIV free. Be well and stay safe, Shannon | |||||||||
