My child was recently diagnosed with herpes and this of course is her first Breakout. Its very painful for her to walk and urinate. We've done some research on herpes and she has has the lesions and mucusy sticky discharge but now her discharge is bloody. Is that normal? Because we can't seem to find any information on if its normal or not.

Hello- Yes it is possible that she could have some bloody discharge related to lesions in her vagina and on her cervix. I'm sure this is very painful for her (and for you to watch her in pain). The good news is that further outbreaks are typically less painful and severe and if she has frequent outbreaks after this initial one her doctor can prescribe some medication to help with this. Take care, LHW
