sucking breast milk will transmit HIV? Oct 21, 2012 Hi Doc 26 year old Male, Two days ago I had protected sex with a prostitute, during that time I felt milk in my mouth while I was sucking her nipple. but there were some cuts in my inside lips and also had throat infection on that time. I'm not sure whether I had swallowed the milk or not. My question is sucking breast milk will transmit HIV? Please.... Answer me |

 Breast milk can transmit HIV although this would be a very very unusual mechanism for HIV transmission for an adult. I think the risk is low but an HIV test under these circumstances and given you have sex with sex workers seems advisable. DW | ||||||||
