| hiv from used condom Sep 16, 2012 If my hand grazed a used condom that I was removing from a child's playground would I be at risk for hiv? The condom must have been there over night at least and I did not have a cut on my hand. I know hiv dies quickly but what about the semen inside the condom? Since it was trapped in the rubber would that be technically preserved the way hiv is inside of a syringe leaving even 24 hour semen still with full hiv infection? Worried about all kids that may someday come across used rubbers in their play area. Thanks. |

Response from Dr. Wohl
There is no risk from touching a used condom. It is gross but will not transmit HIV. DW | |||||||||
