what is hiv virus lifetime
Sep 5, 2012

i was admitted to hospital for acidic condition of body. Doctor advised me to take saline. nurse injected new needle in my hand. and go to take saline after 2/3 minutes he came with saline and inserted saline pipe back to the needle and started saline. suddenly i observed that at the tip of the saline pipe internally there was some blood . i don't know that the blood was dry or not and also it is infected or not is there any chance to infect with hiv virus in this case ?

Response from Mr. Cordova

Hi there:

Hospital equipment is usually sterile. That fact aside, HIV does not live well outside of the human body. Even if there was HIV infected blood present, it would be unable to infect you.

Bottom line: No risk.

In health,

Richard
