Aug 21, 2012
I recently began experiencing symptoms (8 years post possible exposure). It was a duo rapid EIA test and thankfully it came back negative. Is there any reason I should worry and retest? I am freaking out. I reached out to my only 3 partners and all said they are HIV neegative. I am just worried somehow the test missed something. I should also note that I recently had bloodwork that came back fine. Yet here I sit...PLEASE ANSWER

Hello there- Im not exactly sure of the timing of the HIV testing that you had. If you haven't tested in 8 years and have had sex in that time, I would recommend retesting. If you just recently tested and the possible exposure was 8 years ago and are negative, then I would not be concerned that your symptoms are related to HIV. Take care, LHW
