| Unprotected HIV Top (Length of Time Matter?) Aug 12, 2012 Hey Doc., I was a top for a guy a couple of times both were unprotected clearly I am going to go get tested in a few months but I was wondering what are the odds I have contracted HIV. The length of time I was in them was very brief I would say no longer than 2 minutes. I am uncircumcised which does increase the risk. Is there any good news to this situation...basically what are my chances of contracting it considering the above factors. Thanks so much!!! |

Response from Mr. Cordova
Hi, there: Being the insertive partner does lower your risk, being uncircumcised increases it. Since this only happened a couple of times, it is unlikely that transmission occurred, but it is possible. An HIV test three months from the last time you had unprotected penetrative sex will give you the answer you are looking for. As a friendly reminder, using a condom for each and every act of penetrative sex is the best way to protect yourself against HIV and many other STD's. In health, Richard | |||||||||
