| unprotected receptive oral risk Aug 8, 2012 Hi...this is my first time on the board, and I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but I need to ask just once for my own personal sanity. About two months ago, I had receptive oral sex, with a straight man (whom I've engaged in unprotected sex with multiple times prior to this time). I'd just like to know my risks? |

Response from Mr. Cordova
Hi, there: In regards to HIV transmission, oral sex has been and continues to be a low-risk activity. Unprotected penetrative, anal and vaginal sex carry a much higher risk of transmission. There is also the risk of acquiring other STD's like Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea. I suggest getting a full STD screening every six months if possible. At the very least once a year. It's an important part of managing your sexual health. In health, Richard | |||||||||
