| I am HIV positive and my husband is not, Aug 5, 2012 Thanks Ms Shannon for the response to the question I had asked about a gel that could help protect my husband. Well, we still need help. My viral load is undetectable now,we still want to have a child without my husband getting infected, what else can we do apart from artificial insemination whatever, please help. Are there any latest studies or discoveries about a cure, will it ever be possible? |

Response from Ms. Southall
Hi There are ways of becoming pregnant from having unprotected sex with your husband with an undetectable viral load to having his sperm inseminated into you. Also knowing that you are undetectable the risk of HIV transmission is less than 4%. I have many women that I work with that have had healthy HIV free babies and it is possible. finding a good HIV expert in OBGYN is important. Talk with your doctor and they should be able to direct you! Be well and good luck Shannon | |||||||||
