Thanks for your question, Is it possible? Sounds like a big NO to that one. Why? Unless they're spitting actual blood (enough where they're probably bleeding significantly in their mouth). then there isn't any risk. "Trace amounts" of blood (the kind where you can't really see the blood and aren't sure it's really there) would be so diluted that the odds of it getting in your eye directly are in the realm of winning the lottery. The real question here is whether this is a hypothetical situation or maybe even an assumption of risk.. If you know for a fact that there was blood (a recognizable amount) and you're concerned about a blood-borne disease, then by all means talk to a doctor to get down to the bottom of your risk and necessary testing.
