sauna gay risks
Jul 14, 2012

Hello Dr, I must first thank you for helping all people with a particular life situation, you do a great job because not only give medical advice but provide encouragement and strength to fight. In my case, is the fifth time I have the same question and I know that may sound silly, but I went to a gay sauna thinking it would be a place where I could feel good. go in. I felt strange and I sat down to watch videos, an hour later I sat next to a man who touched his penis, I got aroused and ejaculated, I never put off my towel without touching their genitals or the mine, just then I went to the dressing room and wet my feet wet my panties, now I think the towel he was wearing could have traces of semen from a sofa or the water could also drag my feet semen. I ran a risk? should I get tested. Please answer me

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi From what you have described there is no risk! You never experience direct exchange of body fluid with anyone. HIV begins to die once it is outside of the body. So if it were to be on the towel it was dead within minutes. Water dilutes and helps it die quicker.

HIV transmission occurs only when there is a direct exchange of body fluid and you did not experience this! You are fine!

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
