HIV fingering
Jul 7, 2012

Im a gay male and I recently got fingered by a guy who was jacking off a bit before with the same hand. I also jacked him off and I noticed he had some cum. I am trying to assess the risk of the situation. Isn't this the same as unprotected anal sex, in a way, because pre-cum that got on his finger easily could have gotten inside of my ass? Its important to say that I was wearing shorts and underwear when this guy fingered me.

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi It is not the same as anal sex. what happens with anal sex is the damage that happens inside the anal canal and the openings that are created for the semen to enter into the body. So yes theoretically the risk of transmission is there with what you have experienced, but it is very small. There would have to be a large volume of semen and there would have to be an opening created inside the anal canal as the finger was entering in. Then you throw in that even though it was not a condom there was a barrier then the risk decreases that much more. So the short answer is the risk was very very small.

Be well and stay safe,Shannon
