Jun 30, 2012
Hi, Seborrheic dermatitis is it an early or late symptom, after a possible risky exposure with someone hiv status not known my Girl friend developed dermatitis in the nasal fold and bad acne about 7 months later, exposure was insertive anal sex using a plastic bag(not condom) no breakages , no tears, but i am stressed something went horribly wrong.....please help
Response from Ms. Southall
Hi Seborrheic dermatitis is a late symptom. Insertive anal sex is the highest risk behavior but having some protection decreases the chances. The only true way to know is for her to be tested. The guidelines for HIV testing are to be initially tested at 3 weeks then again at 3 months, if both of these tests are negative then so are you.
Be well and stay safe, Shannon
