| dentist and hiv Jun 27, 2012 i remembered once i went to a dentist for my tooth extraction.i bleeded a lot. i didn't know that dentist earlier either by personal or any other way. so is there any chance of hiv as i read from a magazine that there was a case of hiv at dental care.pls help........... |

There's no risk from the situation you're talking about. This is because dentists have to follow strict protocols to keep themselves and patients safe. In the situation you're describing, you're the one that was bleeding so it'd be the dentist who'd be exposed to body fluids more than you. Perhaps the article you read was talking about an isolated case from many years ago when these protocols weren't in place yet? Hope this helps Erik | |||||||||
