| Contracting HIV after unprotected oral sex Jun 20, 2012 Hi there, I had oral sex with a high risk guy (who I met randomly) about 5 days ago. I found out later he had a history of unprotected sex with his partner and a third individual. But he claimed to be negative and said his last HIV test was a few weeks ago (i'm guessing a rapid test). While giving him oral sex, he ejaculated in my mouth, which I wasn't expecting. I happened to have a canker sore in my mouth and tried to spit afterwards but I know I swallowed some of his ejaculate. It's now 5 days out, and I've developed a low grade sore throat, general fatigue, dry mouth (like I'm constantly dehydrated), and this morning woke up in a sweat. I'm very concern I contracted HIV. I did get tested, my rapid Antibody test was negative, and an RNA PCR test is pending, although I took that probably sooner than I should have. Does this sound like an acute HIV infection? |

Response from Mr. Cordova
Hi, there: Oral sex has been and remains a low-risk activity. I do not think you need to be concerned. In health, RIchard | |||||||||
