I'm so confused and don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP. :(
Jun 3, 2012

Hi,

I tested negative for HIV through a blood test at 4 months. I did get tested positive for chlamydia though. They gave me one time antibiotics. Now it's been past two weeks, and they said that I could go back to check if the infection is gone. Recently I've also been having some symptoms, that are making me worry a lot. They might be allergies, but I never had allergies before.

Itchiness in one eye, occasional head ache (probably from caffeine and tiredness)

So my questions are:

1. How accurate are blood tests?

2. Am I conclusive or should I go back to get tested again?

3. After taking antibiotics at the doctors, should I go back to test for chlamydia again?

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi 1. Blood test are very accurate 2. The guidelines for HIV testing are to be initially tested at 3 weeks then again at 3 months, if both of these tests are negative then so are you. 3. The doctor should let you know what course of action to take once the antibiotics are finished.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
