Hi,

I was involved with a mutual masturbation and breast sucking episode with a CSW at least more than 74 days ago. Tested with two HIV duo tests ( 22 and 42 days post-exposure) and one rapid test ( SD Bioline 3.0). Really want to move on but the fear and anxiety seems lingering in my head. Would like to be clarify with some enquiries and move on. Hope to have you guys understanding.

1. I am uncircumcised and I have read a lot about how this can pose a risk of transmission due to the dendritic cells on the foreskin. Just wonder if the CSW (if she had actually done it) just put her finger into her own vagina for masturbation and touch my penis (including urethra, head, foreskin and the shaft...etc),given that my foreskin was retracted during the episode. Would this still be considered as the same situation as the contact of vaginal intercourse due to the short duration between her vagina and my penis?

2. I have looked up WHO website and found the product alert notice to the SD Bioline 3.0, which is the one I took on 74 days. I have asked the organization and they told me that the lot they are using was not affected. Just wonder if the lot is not being affected, would the test result be considered to be accurate even the product is now being "temporarily" withdrew from the WHO procurement?

3. Would the test results above be considered conclusive to my situation ( given that I have taken health and fitness supplement such as protein shake...etc) Just come across websites claiming the health products eg. Glutamine, GSH would have some effect on the immune system, which is a big determinant of antibodies test?)

I hope to receive you guys' valuable comment and would love to put all these behind with a right body and soul again...

Much appreciated and thank you.

Response from Dr. Wohl

Your exposure seems very minimal to say the least. I highly doubt any risk of HIV assuming your partner was actually HIV+. The testing further reduces the chance that you are infected. I would move on.
