Hi im a 23 yearold male a week ago i tested my glucose level with my friends meter i poked my finger three times i think i changed the needle but i dont remember, hes 53 years old dont know if hes hiv positive, could i have gotten hiv?

Hi The likelihood of HIV transmission occurring in this situation is very very small. He would have had to check his blood immediately before you did and left a large volume of blood on the needle. HIV dies once it is outside of the body.
I feel comfortable telling you that you are HIV negative. Of course the only true way to know is to be tested. The guidelines for HIV testing are to be initially tested at 3 weeks then again at 3 months, if both of these tests are negative then so are you.
