Concerned with HIV May 26, 2012 Hi, I am a 19 year old girl and over a year ago a performed unprotected fellatio on a guy I did not know very well. He took advantage of me and it was my first and only sexual experience. A few days later I took some tests for STI's which all came out negative and an HIV test as well which came out negative. I am still concerned that I have obtained HIV, because usually there aren't any symptoms for it right away. He did not ejaculate in my mouth, which from what I understand lowers the risk. Is there a chance that I have HIV? Or am I worried for no reason? Thank you. |

 Hi I'm glad to hear that your first set of tests came back negative but for HIV testing the guidelines are to be initially tested at 3 weeks then again at 3 months, if both of these tests are negative then so are you. I would recommend getting the second test for HIV and if that is negative then you have no reasons to be concerned Be well and stay safe, Shannon | ||||||||
