"What If" using condoms to protect against HIV infection May 19, 2012 I recently had PROTECTED sex with a man I really hardly knew. Yes It was a stupid thing to do and I regret it. Lesson learned. Anyways, during sex I felt he had too much of his own fluids in the condom tip so I made him change into a new condom. After 20 or 30 more minutes I made him change it again. He did not have an orgasm. That was 2 weeks ago. Today I went to the ER for lower left back pain. They took my urine and said I had white cells in it. QUESTION 1.) Does that mean during protected sex with that man I could have caught HIV? The condom was used properly twice. Didn't slip off or anything. |

 Thanks for your question, I guess I'm unclear why the protected sex was a stupid thing to do. You had no risk for HIV from this situation. The sex was protected the entire time! Using a condom properly like you did, prevents the chance of getting HIV. Hope this helps! Erik | ||||||||
