Who falls into that 3%
Apr 28, 2012

97% of people seroconvert and test positive by 3 months. Are the 3 percent people who dont fall into iv drug users, immune suppressing drugs or severly damnaged immune systems? In other words if you have a good immune system you should fall into the 97 %?

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi The three month window period is normal for most of the population. Many people will have detectable antibodies in three or four weeks. Very, very rarely (i.e., only a few cases ever), a person could take six months to produce antibodies. There's no real reason why this 3% could take longer.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
