high of wbc is uti or std?
Apr 16, 2012

High white blood cell in urinary considered as uti...my doctors said i have a uti...my white blood cell is high, ut result is 18-20 is this uti only or i have a std?

Response from Dr. Hightow-Weidman

Hello there- Both a urinary tract infection caused by a bacteria and STDs (such a gonorrhea or chlamydia) can cause elevated WBC counts in the urine. If you have engaged in any sexual activity I would suggest you be evaluated for both and that will guide the treatment. Take care, LHW
