Relative risk level for unprotected oral sex
Apr 9, 2012
I am a circumcised male who received brief oral sex with out a condom at a massage parlor (she was female). I did not ejaculate. I urinated and showered immediately afterwards.
What are the relative risk levels for different STDs?
Response from Dr. Wohl
Pretty much zip for HIV. A bit more for some other STDs but still pretty low risk. Certainly, we know that herpes simplex virus can be shed in the saliva and infect others. Gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis would be less likely to be transmitted by having someone perform oral sex on you but not impossible.
