|Help me interpret results please!
Mar 22, 2012
My test results from QUEST diagnostics read:
In-range Index HIV AB, HIV 1/2, EIA W/REFL to HIV 1 WB HIV 1/2 EIA AB SCREEN Non-reactive Non-reactive
Please help me interpret this? Did I have a WB performed? I thought WB were only performed if AB was (+)? OR do some companies have different protocols or test? This test was done at about 4.5 months. Is it conclusive?

Hello there- You are correct, your AB screen was negative and so a western blot was not performed. That is what it means when it says refl to HIV WB (it is short for reflex to a western blot, meaning if ab test is positive they will automatically run a western blot). You are negative.
