Could Aids be transmitted through if bodily fluid makes contact with skin with rash ?Mar 11, 2012 The condom only covers the shaft of the penis, so what if fluid were to get onto the base of the penis (which is not protected) and if there is rashes on this area, how high is the chance of transmition ? If the answer is yes, oes it also mean that people should avoid having sexual intercourse if they have rash or itch in the groin area? Thank you very much for your answer! |

![]() | Response from Ms. SouthallHi This is a great question. And you are correct the condom does not protect the other areas in the genital area. If there is a rash or broken skin there is an opportunity for HIV to transmit. So yes if there are openings, rashes, broken skin etc.....you should not have sex or put yourself in a position of having exchange of body fluid. Be well and stay safe, Shannon | ||||||||
