Four month HIV nagetive, low cd4 count
Mar 6, 2012
I tested eight times with HIV nagetive after my unprotected sex with a massage girl in china. But my four month result is that HIV antigen and antibodies nagetive, cd4=460,cd4/cd8=0.68. I am very young and heathy. Why did I get such a strange result? Did I get HIV or not?

Hello there- After so many HIV tests, so long past your exposure I think you can sufficiently be assured you are HIV negative. While the range of CD4 counts is wide, it is typically 500-1500 cells. A level of 460 is slightly low and I would recommend having it repeated and talking with a provider about possible causes if it remains low. Take care,
