| HIV Through sharing cigerette. Mar 4, 2012 Dear Doc, I came to know that - a person i shared my room was infected with HIV/AIDS. We jus were casual living and occationally sharing Cigerettes and Couple of beers drinking togather and living in same room. Do I had a chance of infection. I read many places like HIV can't live in atmosphere. Does there is a chance of HIV infection bcoz of Cigerette sharing as there were chances it becomes wet on one side (like) I never Had sex with any one (or) never shared needle etc., |

Response from Ms. Southall
Hi You cannot get HIV from casual contact, including sharing utensils, glasses or just old living space. HIV does not survive long after it leaves the body. From what you have described, you are HIV free from this incidence. Be well and stay safe, Shannon | |||||||||
