Scared - Dr. Cordova
Feb 20, 2012
Hello dr. Cordova,
Thank you for your time. 6 months a go I got a unprotected blowbjob from a woman. 8 weeks a go I French kissed a girl who told me later that she had minor surgery in her mouth 3 days before (the kiss). Initially I got over my fear for HIV after these two episodes. But this weekend I saw some pink places (don't no the word in english, they are not spots, or deep) on my back. Scared again. 8 weeks after the blowjob I tested negative for HIV. The girl I kissed is a blood donor. Could you give me a risk assesment and some rational thoughts?? Do I need to test again?
Erik, The Netherlands
Response from Mr. Cordova
Oral sex has been and remains a low-risk activity. Even more so for the person who is receiving the oral sex. Kissing is an even lower risk. I would not be concerned. I do not think you need to test.
