|longer ars duration , late seroconversion?
Feb 16, 2012
I have experience nasal congestion, feeling of always tired and low grade fever 2 weeks after possible exposure through anal intercourse. The symptoms lasted for almost 3 months. all blood works are normal. i had a stool exam after i tested negative for hiv at 12 weeks and it shows numerous fungus in the stool.I tested negative through rapid hiv 1 and 2 test at 8 weeks and 12 weeks post possible exposure this is done in the Philippines in a department of health accredited hiv testing government hospital. Since the symptoms lasted longer, does it follow if you experience ARS symptoms for a longer duration , the seroconversion takes longer too? Is there a possibility that i am a late seroconverter? Or the 12 weeks rapid test is conclusive?
Hope i can be enlightened and be relieved by my anxieties!
Thank you doc and more power!

A negative test at 12 weeks is pretty conclusive. If an older HIV test was used, would retest in a month or so. If that is negative, you are done with testing.
