| Oral sex Feb 10, 2012 Hello, I received unprotected oral sex back in December 2011 and I plan on getting checked for std's and possibly HIV tomorrow, february 9. I've been a worried wreck since my "exposure." does this incident put me at risk of contracting anything? Did I put myself at risk? Was it a risk? Please help me! I am so worried. Thank you! |

Response from Mr. Cordova
Hi there: Oral sex has been and is a low-risk, and safer sex activity. I do not suggest testing for HIV for incidences of oral sex. It is possible to come in contact with other STD's during oral sex. Unless you are experiencing symptoms such as discharge, or a painless red bump on or near your genitals, I would not suggest testing for other STD's either. My recommendation is that people are screened for all STD's, including HIV at least once a year, preferably twice a year. In health, Richard | |||||||||
