| HPTN 052 Study Jan 31, 2012 What do you think about HPTN 052 study?. It means that a HIV positive person who is on treatment, with an undetectable viral load can not transmit the virus to others sexually? The protection that offers the treatment is as safe as the use of condoms? |

Response from Ms. Southall
HI Great question and yes this is good news. It has become one of the new messages for prevention is for folks to get in get tested get their results and if positive into care and on treatment. Knowing that not only can HIV positive folk live healthier lives, being on treatment dramatically reduces the chances of transmission. Though nothing is guaranteed, this is highly encouraging news! Be well and stay safe, Shannon | |||||||||
