Condom slipped duirng sex

Jan 22, 2012

First, thank you for this forum! I had protected sex w/ a married man the other day. He says he is neg but I know he frequents Craigslist. I was the top. My condom slipped off. After only 1 thrust or 2 I realized it and pulled out. How much at risk am I if he is HIV+? I put on another condom after that. Thank you for your help!

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi Glad we can be here for you! Good for you for using protection. From your description, 1st the top partner carries a smaller risk than the bottom, that you noticed immediately that the condom was off and put on another one. Is transmission likely possibly, but not probable. If you want to be 100% sure than testing is your best bet. Rapid HIV tests, whether oral swab or blood are very accurate at 28 days, and conclusive at 90 days.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
