hi: i have been told over and over again that i am negative. test results such as ran, dan, antibody tests (oral swab and blood alike also negative)etc...however, i went to an immunologist and she ran some tests of my immune system and when the results came in she took me into her "private" office to discuss the results and she just said that my cd4 were fine but my cd8 suppressor cells tested out of range. i had recently been vaccinated against hepatitis. i also tested positive for herpes simplex...i have never had an outbreak or anything. i was told that herpes could delay the hiv results. can you help me clear my mind

Hello and thanks for posting.
First off, from what you describe, it seems pretty certain that you do not have HIV infection.
Second, I'm not sure why one would attempt to measure your baseline CD4 and CD8s after a recent vaccination. Vaccinations would clearly activate the immune system and cause alterations in the levels, so interpretation of these results is potentially inaccurate.
Third, herpes does not influence HIV testing results. Period.
Hope that helps. BY
