| HIV contraction from cuts Sep 7, 2011 Can I get Hiv from a coworker if I use shared equipment such as fax , copier , refridgerator,ect. when I have scratches and cuts on my fingers from rose bushes or small cut from knife in kitchen the day before and the wound still stings when I wash it, and the coworker has papercuts and abrasions that are from the day before and the coworker touches them and then the fax, copier,ect. |

Hi. Yes, you can get HIV from a coworker if you shared equipment, such as a fax machine, copier or refrigerator. The coworker would have to be HIV infected, and you would have to have unsafe sex with him on top of the fax machine, copier or refrigerator. Other than that, even with cuts,the answer would be a resounding "no, of course not you silly person, you". Dr. Bob | |||||||||
