|Did my allergy shots affected the HIV test result?
Sep 7, 2011
I had an unprotected sex (female status unknown) in November, 2010. I did a 28 day day HIV test in December 2010, result was negative. Then I had a 5-1/2 months EIA (Elisa) tests, short of the recommended 6 months and the result was also negative. But before those two tests, I was already taking allergy shots 2X a week that started September of 2010, two months before the encounter. Did my allergy shots affected my HIV test results? Is the negative result conclusive inspite of the allergy shots I'm taking? Do I need to test again cause I'm planning to have another one (12 mos after axposure). Please advise since I don't know what to do. Thanks for you help in advance.

Allergy shots would not cause false-negative HIV test results. Your results are conclusive.
