| hiv from sharing toothpaste Aug 22, 2011 Can you get hiv if you share toothpaste and the person with hiv already used their toothbrush and perhaps had bleeding gums and then re-applied toothpaste and some of the bristles from that person's brush touched the toothpaste container or toothpaste inside of the container and then you used the toothpaste. Could that little bit of blood get onto the toothpaste container or toothpaste you would use and then onto your toothbrush and if your gums bleed like so many of us then you could get infected? I know hiv does not live long in the outside air but if you used the toothpaste like ten min. later would it still be alive? Have kids and am worried.I know you can get it from toothbrushes but is this taken it too far? Paranoid or not? Thanks so much for your time. |
