 Hello, Freebie (aka Fegie). Because you are experiencing fever following your surgery, I would perform a comprehensive evaluation to find out why. This would include a thorough history, review of hospital records and laboratory reports, and a physical examination. I would then order what laboratory tests were warranted based on the above evaluation. (HIV and hepatitis would be fairly far down on my differential diagnosis list based on the limited informant you provided.) Good luck. Dr. Bob | ||||||||
