| HIV risk from scissors and prechewed gum?? (CHEWING GUM, 2011) (PRE-CHEWED GUM, 2011) Jun 13, 2011 I am really worried about two events which happened recently. i came in contact with a scissors which were used by someone before a longtime. 2. I came in contact with a prechewed gum. I touched it. and after sometime i put my hands in my mouth without my conscious. Is there any chance for transmission of hiv. please let me know. I would be really grateful to you. |

Hi. "Coming in contact with a scissors which were used by someone before a longtime" is not a risk for acquiring HIV! Similarly touching pre-chewed gum and then putting your hands in your mouth is not an HIV risk! See link below. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
