Remember Grandma from 9 years ago

Apr 25, 2011

Hi, I wrote 9 years ago. My husband had unprotected sex with a(dancer) 4 days later he had unprotected sex with me. We both developed symptoms. He tested NEG by PCR at 5 weeks. I tested neg by antibody at 6 weeks. He tested antibody neg at 12 weeks and 18 1/2 weeks. Now 9 years later we both have developed slightly low WBC. Mine is 3.6 total but aparentlly the low number is neutriphils. Lymphocites apear to register as normal. Can this be HIV?

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello Still Worried Grandma,

Nine years later you're still worried? Granny, what's up with that? Nearly a decade ago I advised your horny hubby's 18.5-week negative HIV-antibody test and undetectable five-week PCR were conclusive and definitive. I haven't changed my assessment! I can't diagnose the cause of your "slightly low WBC" over the Internet. However, what I can do is advise what's not causing it: it's not HIV! OK? Don't you think it's time (past time) to put this worry permanently to rest? I certainly do!

Be well. Stay well. (Yes, you and Grand-dad are both "well"!)
