Supplements and meds while testing
Mar 21, 2011
Dr.Bob, is there any possibility of supplements and meds having any interference with the HIV or a Hep C antibody test?
I am currently on meds for anxiety and depression plus supplements (L-Glutamine, Alpha lipoic acid, L-Cysteine, multivitamins and excessive amounts of vitamin C-2 or 3g at the time of the tests).
Are my 6-7 months HIV and Hep C negatives Woo-Hooable?
Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi Loud 32,
Are your negative six-to-seven-month HIV and hepatitis C tests WOO-HOO-able? Absofrickenlutely! Your supplements, anti-anxiety and antidepressant medications will not affect the validity or accuracy of your HIV and hepatitis C tests.
