|Hep A & B shots and HIV test
Nov 5, 2010
Happy Halloween Dr. Bob!
I was given my first round of Hep A and Hep B vaccination shots this afternoon and two hours after this I decided to get an HIV 3rd generation antibody test done. Will the Hep A and B vaccine currently in my bloodstream impact the results of that HIV test?
Thank you very much for your advice. I think you have an amazing job!

Nope. It takes a number of weeks for a vaccination to kick in and antibodies to be produced. Your test results will be accurate.
