| brief oral encounter Apr 29, 2001 I recently had an encounter with a women whom i did not know. She performed oral sex on my penis for not more than 2 minutes. I don not know the condition of her oral health. There were no scratches, abrasions, or sores on my penis. I was wondering if i'm at risk for hiv infection? Thank you! Also, i was told that an hiv test is accurate after six weeks is this true? |

Response from Mr. Kull
Based on reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), there is no evidence that people get infected by receiving oral sex. HIV is probably not transmitted by saliva, and the only risk for HIV transmission while receiving oral sex is if there is blood present in the person's mouth. Please read through the CDC's information sheet, "What you should know about oral sex" (http://www.thebody.com/cdc/oralsex.html) for more information. RMK | |||||||||
