|husband hiv wife not do i stay or go
Jul 20, 2010
how does one comes to terms with this situation. Husband a white man living in africa.. has been sleeping around, can only persume with local africa girls.... admitted to me that he is hiv positive...he is in contact with these africa girls that are hiv... states he is only friends with them but i feel he is sleeping with them as well. I love this man even though he been so unfaithful, love him as a person rather than his bad habits. Do you cut your loses and leave the marriage of 19years and all you built together, or do you stick with him and help him though this. We live in Tanzania and have not found anywhere that i could go and talk to someone. At a lose for words, and good advise will help. We have two children which live in South Africa. Look forward to some advise.

Whether you stay or go, only you can decide. The important thing is to protect your HIV-negative status by not allowing yourself to be put at risk sexually.
Couples counseling may help you decide if you should stay together as a magnetic couple. Some couples may evolve into a merely supportive and platonic relationship while others do not find this to be a workable solution. It depends on whether your needs can be met if you stay. You may find the information in the archives pertaining to magnetic couples helpful.
