CAN I STOP THIS?!
Jul 2, 2010

Dr. Bob, I was very stupid and had several unprotected vaginal sex encounters in my past. (I am female.) I have never had anal sex. I came to my senses and got tested for everything, including HIV.

6 months oral rapid: neg 6 months regular blood test: neg 9 months finger prick rapid: neg 9 months oral rapid: neg 9 months regular blood test: neg

Am I seriously negative??? I find it so hard to believe because I had unprotected encounters with not 1, but 5 guys. I can't believe how stupid I was and how lacking in judgement I was. I will NEVER have sex unprotected ever again, unless it is with my husband and he has been tested negative and we are strictly loyal to each other and monogamous. I promise.

Am I really negative? Can I move on or should I continue to be tested, such as with a PCR or something? Your advice is really, really appreciated. Thank you, Dr. Bob.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

"Am I seriously negative???" Absofrickenlutely! Your repeatedly negative HIV-antibody tests out to nine months are definitive, conclusive, WOO-HOO-able and move-on-able. HIV is not your problem. No way. No how. No additional HIV testing is warranted.

Just yell WOO-HOO and then move on!

Dr. Bob
