Bathing with my son
Jun 16, 2010
Hello Doc Just wondering if it is possible to give my son HIV if I bathe with him? I am a female just to make that clear. We do not always bathe together, but he sometimes enjoys my company in the tub (he is 27 months old) I do not wear a bathing suit...I also do not know for sure if I have HIV, I had unprotected sex and I am waiting to get blood work. Also was wondering if any other STIs could be transmitted if we bathed together. Please, I've been looking for the answer for a week or two.
Response from Dr. Frascino
There is no STD/HIV risk to taking a bath with your toddler. Splish-splash without worry! OK?
