Jun 3, 2010
Doctor I am in desperate need my wife wrote you earlier I am sorry but I feel the need to write you again. My Uncle who is knowingly HIV positive for many years now hit me in the mouth for no reason today and busted my mouth open which has forced me to have stitches I am sure the po;ice said he had a small cut on his hand from my tooth.I have now began to panic and would lik eto have your opinion on what you think I should do now.The er doctor said there is close to zero chance of being infected this way but I do not understand how this can be and I am so so scared and need your opinion.Thank you in advance

I agree with the ER doctor. A "small cut" resulting from Uncle Slugger nicking his knuckles while clobbering you in the head for no apparent reason would not pose an HIV risk, as there would not have been enough time for him to actively bleed into your traumatized mouth.
