| Pregnancy + indeterminate 2010 follow up information Mar 30, 2010 On march 25 my question was answered about my posiive ELISA and indeterminate western blot, thank you! The follow up information: my husbands HIV test was negative and my PCR DNA came back negative today. Your forums were really helpful to putting our minds at ease- my OB had never heard of this, which is surprising and sent us into a panic. He'd never seen a false positive ELISA test either. |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, You're welcome. WOO-HOO! The surprising thing about your case was not the false-positive ELISA, but rather that your OB doctor had no knowledge that this occurs not infrequently as a consequence of pregnancy! He's in dire need of a refresher course on HIV testing basics! Be well. Dr. Bob | |||||||||
