Transmission from menstrual period in a pool!
Feb 14, 2010
I previously asked this question. Tested at 3, 6 and 9 months (negative) but have had persisten symptoms (sore throat); was in a pool with my children, did not know had my period; they started getting symptoms (sore throat)this has continued for all of us. Would they be negative as well? Please, let me know. I'll donate.
Response from Dr. Frascino
HIV cannot be transmitted via swimming pools, whether an HIVer had her period while doing laps or was profusely bleeding from a slashed artery while swimming. No risk. None. OK?
Thanks for the donation to The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation (www.concertedeffort.org).
