Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello, You've had over a dozen negative HIV-antibody tests and an undetectable quantitative HIV PCR DNA out to over two years! Yet you "still suspect HIV infection." Hmm. Exactly which part of "HIV negative" are you having trouble understanding? Your tests are definitive, conclusive, excessive and WOO-HOO-able. HIV is not your problem. No way. No how. No additional HIV testing is warranted. Antibiotics treat bacterial infections (not viral infections, like HIV). That your sore throat seems to improve on antibiotics but then worsens could indicate you have a chronic bacterial infection in your tonsils or sinuses. I'd recommend you see an ENT (ear, nose and throat) physician for an evaluation. Rheumatoid arthritis causes inflammation and pain in the affected joints. Stop chasing after a disease you could not possibly have. There is overwhelming and irrefutable evidence that you are HIV negative. If you can't accept this truly wonderful reality, you may need to seek psychiatric help. Your fears are completely irrational. You should be WOO-HOO-ing, not worrying! Dr. Bob | ||||||||||
