me again....bathouse
Nov 17, 2009

Simple question . Could my elevated liver enzymes be an early symptom of HIV... Even though I tested neg after 3 months I still worry. I do drink quite a bit of wine.Love the stuff! retired and all !! I wish I could take back the past mistake of the bathhouse but I am here now. either I drink 2 much and have to stop or I have HIV fears from my crazy adventure!

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

Elevated liver enzymes are not a common sign of early HIV disease. Alcohol use or hepatitis (chemical or infectious) would be the most common causes. Your doctor should be able to give you more specific information on your potential cause based on which enzymes are elevated and how high. I do not believe this is HIV related.
